Mesquite and Manna

Notes on a desert parish: the church year, the desert seasons, neighbours and local memory

Write to the desk

How to reach Mesquite and Manna: the address to use, what to send, what not to send, and how corrections are handled.

The desk reads its mail at contact@stbarnabasborrego.org. One address, no form, no telephone line and no office hours: write in English and expect an answer within a week or so, sooner when the message is short.

What to send

Corrections are the most useful thing a reader can send. Say which entry, which sentence, what is wrong and which public document shows the right figure; a link to the document is better than a paragraph of argument. Suggestions for a question the desk should take up are welcome if they name the public source that answers them. If you write about a congregation, an agency or a place, say how you are connected to it, so the answer can be checked.

What not to send

The desk does not accept advertising, sponsored entries, paid links, guest posts or press releases, and it does not pass correspondence to anyone else. Do not send personal data about a third person, a photograph of an identifiable person, or anything you would not want read by a stranger. Nothing sent to this address is published without an explicit reply saying so.

Corrections

A correction is made in the entry itself and the date at the head of the entry is updated, so that the page always says when it was last checked. Where a correction changes the answer rather than a detail, the old wording is described in the entry rather than quietly deleted.
